Very likely the best, lowest mileage example available. The photos I’m sure will do most of the talking. A UK two previous owner bike with the last having it for 10 years, HPI clear, has just been serviced and is ready to enjoy and/ or add to a collection. There's not a single stone chip on the front end and it’s completely factory original. Original full tool kit and wheel brace under the seat. Needs absolutely nothing and rides beautifully, advisory free mot until May 2025. The charging system which was really the only common problem with this model (and most Hondas of this era) has been upgraded with a new Tourmax Regulator/ rectifier, a new battery and works perfectly. Inside the fuel tank is like new with no corrosion.
Yes sports tourers that are 30 years newer, may be slightly quicker, slightly more nimble but it’s taken them that long to be only slightly better. The one thing none of them have ever come close to in that 30 years is the VFR’s build quality and longevity. It was rumoured Honda lost money on each second generation (RC36-2) as they over invested into the development to ensure the bike was as good as it possibly could be. The absolute peak of motorcycle build quality was Honda in the mid to late nineties and especially this model, it’s sad to think we’ll never see the likes of it again. This one is un-repeatable.
