Description
Owned it for 5 years, had a 4xv prior to this one.
The 5jj is more comfortable and is more compliant between hedges.
Don't be put off by the honest description, most sellers would not tell you.
Last of the Carburettor R1's.
Lighter than modern bikes and can be ridden sensibly up to 50mpg.
Fully sorted and very reliable.
This 5jj had a nicosil fault (very common on early 4xv R1's, same cylinders as the 5jj) so I replaced the cases with the later 5pw one's.
The originals can go with it if you want to repair them.
Bike runs and rides perfectly , everything works. Only run on E5 fuel by me.
35000 miles ,
Engine back to as new tolerances rebuilt by race winning engine builder.
Long MOT , new front tyre , good rear , new rear pads , good front ones.
Black widow exhaust can and still running the EXUP valve as this increases low down torque on the older R1's.
Fuel/ air and exup adjusted to suit can.
Pulls like a rocket ship.
The bike was imported in 2007 from Slovenia which can be looked up on the vin , so its the same spec as the UK and did not effect the insurance.
You can get classic bike cover now as its 24 years old.
Plenty of paint chips and imperfections to improve on or just ride it.
Best speed to value ratio out there.
Great fun to own.
Space needed due to another bike.
No sensible offer refused.
No test rides, ect.....
