Here is the M car from before M cars. Starting life as a humble 1982 323i, this particular E21 has been significantly modified. Sporting the turbo 6 cylinder from an E23 745i, it is now pushing 273 horsepower, and controlled by an ECU provided by Tim’s Turbo Center. This power is routed through a E28 535i 5-speed manual transmission to an Alpina 25% limited-slip 3. 45 differential. 17-inch Alpina-style wheels put the power to the ground with brand new tires (installed November 2024). Handling is vastly improved with front and rear stabilizer bars, Bilstein shocks, and Eibach springs. Keeping all of this power and capability safe are drilled rotors and the hydraulic braking system from an E23 745i. This ensures this particular E21 is the complete package: power, handling, and stopping.
Visually the car also impresses with an Alpina front bumper and Zender side skirts. The interior has also been redone in Cognac leather, covering Recaro front seats and the rear seat from a 6-series. Black Hella headlamps complete the exterior look to give the car a true restomod feel.
The E21 is currently unregistered and located in Berlin, Germany. It was last registered in the Netherlands as of 11. 24. Modified by a long-term (19 year) prior owner, this car represents the best components of the Ultimate Driving Machine in one package!
