Rare opportunity to buy a stunning example of a Tiger Cat E1, genuine 1 owner car from new since 2006. Most kit cars have gone through several owners in that amount of time. Very reluctant sale.
Built by me over winter 2005/ 2006, SVA tested and registered July 2006 as a Tiger on an age related plate. Donor car was a 1989 Ford Sierra. I am a car enthusiast and a member of several car clubs including Tiger Owners Club & East Anglia Tiger Owners Club.
Spec: Tiger Cat E1 chassis, only 8, 000 miles from build, aluminium side panels painted black to match the black GRP bodywork, 2. 0 Zetec phase 2 Silver top engine with Kent Fast road cams, Vernier adjustable cam pulleys, lightweight Formula Ford flywheel, Megajolt ECU, Kawasaki ZX6R carbs with TPS on a Dan ST inlet manifold, shortened & baffled sump, Ford 5 speed Type 9 gearbox, full Tiger exhaust system with larger Tiger repackable 6 inch silencer, upgraded Tiger rollbar, windscreen & wipers, smaller flat bottomed steering wheel, full set of Tiger dials, Tiger pad seats (which are fixed to the floor), 15 inch Fox Alloy wheels, alloy radiator, upgraded LED lights, dominator headlamps, original Tiger carbon dash, 12v twin USB socket with voltmeter, Caterham style dash switches, 4 point harnesses, battery isolator switch, fire extinguisher. Includes Tiger side screens/ doors and a home made rain/ sun canopy. Lockable boot storage space. I haven`t dyno`d it for many years but it was around 170 to 175 bhp. The car has never been on a track.
I have maintained the car myself, servicing it and completing any upgrades. Cambelt was last changed during the winter of 2020/ 21 and was only changed due to time on car, not for mileage. Water pump also replaced at same time.
Over my 19 years of ownership I have absolutely cherished this car only ever driving it for 6 months of the year from April/ May and then SORN`d each winter. Permanently garaged, never driven in rain or on wet roads intentionally. It has been a regular visitor to many car shows where it gets lots of attention. Originally built with 2. 0 Pinto engine and then upgraded to 2. 0 Zetec. V5 is in my name.
MOT`d until 25/ 4/ 26. Mileage may increase a little. Vast history file with car including all build receipts, build photos, copies of SVA papers, donor vehicle proof, all old MOT`s and receipts galore for upgrades completed over the years. I have spent far more on the car than what it is for sale at.
This Tiger is in super condition but obviously being 19 years old does have some minor paint chips/ marks. These cars flick stones up very easily!
Built for the taller driver (i`m 6ft 3). Current seats are bolted to the floor but other seats can easily be fitted for those shorter than me. Sierra pedal box with altered pedals giving extra leg room.
The car is having a brand new set of Toyo TR1 tyres fitted on 30/ 5/ 25 at a cost of £300 ready for the new owner. Front cycle wings show slight signs of cracking (common). I will include a spare new black cycle wing. If I can find a second wing somewhere I will change these.
Photo`s accurately show the current condition of the car. Selling due to purchase of another specialist car. I will be extremely sad to see this go as it has been part of the family. I would prefer that it went to another car enthusiast. Serious enquiries only, no tyre kickers. Tiger is located in Leicestershire. Just to confirm, this car is not an import, has no adverse history, has no finance owing and has never been in an accident. The `vehicle background` questions have been auto populated incorrectly!
