Description

1978 Moto Guzzi Le Mans mk1
First registered Nov 1978, so a series B mk1. Owned by me since May 1991.
Restoration started during the Covid Lockdown and finished a couple of years later. Since completion I have not ridden the bike at all.
It is registered as a Historic vehicle so £0 tax and MoT exempt. Cheap classic insurance too!
o Frame and swinging arm powder coated
o Wheels powder coated
o Engine stripped and vapour blasted
o Stainless steel engine mounting bolts
o New Bearings, piston rings, oil seals and gaskets
o Petrol tank and bodywork painted
o New fuel taps and Petrol tank cap
o Petrol tank sealed
o Carburettors rebuilt & fitted with bell mouths
o New Clutch
o New clutch cable, throttle cables and choke cables
o Speedo cable and tacho cable
o New brake discs & pads all round
o Brake callipers overhauled
o New braided stainless brake pipes
o Avon Road Rider tyres
o Hagon Shocks
o Brand new Mistral exhaust system, specially made for the Le Mans
o New Battery, Ignition switch, Chrome headlamp, solid state voltage regulator, usb sockets and volt meter, spark plugs, HT leads, starter motor
o Twist grips, mirrors
o All fluids changed, (forks, engine, gearbox, bevel box) & new oil filter
o Tarozzi rearsets overhauled & new rubbers

Bad points:-
Aftermarket instrument binnacle (Gutsibits) and replacement speedo and tacho fitted because original instruments and housing were broken before my ownership, so I can not verify mileage. (Back in the 1990’s I used to commute 50 miles a day on this in the spring and summer, but haven’t really used it much since then)
I think the fork yokes are Mk2 le mans.
The left hand switch gear is not the original Mk1 item
There are no indicators
None of these things affect use of the bike, but would be nice to put right in the fullness of time.
Asking £9, 800 or near offer
Located near Lockerbie.
Viewings welcome, but no test pilotsThis is a classic performance bike, which still has plenty to offer. I have restored this bike so it is in pristine condition but priced to reflect a couple of non-original components
