Description
We are selling a genuine Melkus RS1000 from 1978. This vehicle is a piece of GDR history and the fourth last RS1000 to be produced in Dresden by Heinz Melkus! One of only 101 units - not a new edition, not a replica! The vehicle was delivered to the ophthalmologist Dr Schmidt in Plauen in October 1978 for just under 27, 000 GDR marks. It was the 5th Melkus to roll off the production line in 1978. The car was owned by a GDR racing driver for the last 25 years and was driven as a collector's car. During this time, the car was on display at various exhibitions (Horch Museum) and events. The Melkus impresses with its originality and its traceable history. In the interior, time has almost stood still and you get an idea of the inventive spirit and the quality of workmanship in GDR times. Almost all of the vehicle's components are untouched. Even the original and fully functional wiring harness is in the car. The boot is also fitted with the original plastic bag and accessories. We hand over the reconditioned Melkus with a fresh service, new MOT including an H-approval and new tyres. The number 98 is unique and you are welcomed with open arms at every opportunity or event! We have reliably driven this piece of automotive history over 500 km and can't get enough of it! See for yourself and secure a unique vehicle with history!
