1980 Vauxhall Chevette L 2 door saloon. 1256cc showing 26000 miles from new. Finished in bright copper metallic paint. Rescued from a garage hibernation of 32 years in 2018. Recommissioned by myself. Parts replaced include nos carburettor, brake hoses, fuel lines, tyres, brake caliper refurb, new drums , suspension, clutch, full service, pre-engaged starter motor and flywheel conversion and water pump. Comes with various spare parts including central locking kit, twin choke carburettor inlet manifold, gaskets, distributor water hoses, radiator + more. Current mot and happy to put a fresh one on for new keeper. Modifications include, lowering springs and original springs, banded rostyle rims, and electronic ignition. Interior is in excellent condition other than the rear quarter cards require recovering due to vinyl peeling off in storage. I’ve also added headrests to the seats. Exterior wise the bodywork is in exceptional condition with only surface rust spots (patina) over the roof and and upper panels. The underside is immaculate having no rust/ rot and never been welded!. Mechanically the car is also very good being a very low mileage car. I’ve driven roughly 7k miles in my ownership, only breaking down once when the rotor arm failed. I’d happily drive the car anywhere with confidence. Yes it has oil leaks, yes the gearbox has a wine and yes it rattles for half a second on cold start but don’t they all? To sum it up, it’s an extremely solid, dare I say rare 2 door saloon Chevette? ready to jump in and drive as is or modify to your taste. More pics or a walk round video available on request.
