A very reluctant sale of my 1993/ 1994 Ducati Monster M900. I have owned this bike for nearly 6 years and in that time it has been my pride and joy. The only reason for sale is that I have caught the track bug and the road no longer does it for me.
The bike has been cherished in terms of maintenance and care. I have had the wheels and frame powder coated and the tank is a brand new unit from Ducati recently - there are no worries about the old Monster fuel leakage here as the tank is brand new from Ducati and cost £2000 direct from them. It has been painted in a limited edition Ducati blue - my favourite colour.
It has been serviced every year of my ownership except when it had its frame and tank done. The belts were done less than 1500 miles ago and it's last oil change was less than 500 miles ago.
The bike has multiple extras that enhance it's performance and appeal. These include an Ohlins rear shock, Renthal chain and sprockets and nearly unused Bridgestone BT016 tyres front and rear (they still have the tyre hairs on them). It has D and D cans on it which are no longer in production and sound sublime. It roars on the power and snarls on gear changes. It sounds better than my crossplane R1.
The bike has MOT until July - it runs and rides brilliantly and feels half as old as it is. The private reg will not be going with the bike, the original will be put back on, but the picture is there to show you how much I have loved owning it.
I am the 16th owner but have had it for nearly 6 years. There are some age related marks but it is nearly 32 years old. I will be very sad to see it go and I don't look forward to seeing it go into someone else's van but it's time for it to make someone else happy.
