Description
The last year of production for the Aluminium bodied Airstream Class A motorhome.
This 1991 Airstream Classic 300LE is 30 foot long and is extremely rare, being one of only 15 built that year.
It has undergone extensive maintenance and sympathetic upgrades in order to practically modernise while retaining original character.
It has been registered with FIVA (Federation International Vehicules Anciens) in order to verify its authenticity and condition.
Unlike the 35 and 40 foot models, the 300LE is much more practical on the road and is accepted at most camp grounds while still being able to sleep five.
This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of American automotive history. The work carried out is too extensive to list here and a more detailed report can be supplied along with further photographs upon request.
Here are a few highlights;
Skin, stripped an polished.
New £4. 5k windscreen in 23.
Solar panels.
New solid oak floor.
Reupholstered in cream leather.
New made to measure curtains throughout with blackout & insulation.
Avtex fold down TV.
Self-seeking auto satellite dish.
New rear rotors and pads all round.
The Chevrolet 7. 4 V8 engine has new valves and seats, plugs, leads, distributor, ancillaries and much more. It starts on the button, runs smoothly and delivers a very distinctive sound through the new stainless steel Banks exhaust system.
Since being purchased in the USA, driven coast to coast and shipped to the UK, the Airstream has seen regular use across Europe and the UK. All house system operate as they should.
