Description
I have owned this beautiful (Fiat) Bertone X19 for five years, I have used her quite a bit as a weekend car and clocked up around five thousand miles in her.
I got the alloy wheels recut a few years ago, so they look pristine, I did have a private number plate A19 XFB on her, which is for sale by separate negotiation, as I have put the original number plate back on her, which you can see in the photos.
The car has full service history, and could probably do with an oil change, perhaps new spark plugs as well, but she runs beautifully as she is.
There are odd bits of rust flecks here and there, but only obvious if you look up very close.
The only thing that requires sorting out sooner than later, is the rust coming up through the two pop-up headlights, (I think they must be made of a different type of metal to to the rest of the car), please see the photos.
She is good for long trips, twice I have taken her down to my holiday home in Cornwall, (three-hour trips), and she is great for bombing along those twisty narrow Cornish roads, and on 21st July I took her to Pembokeshire and drove her back the next day, she was great on the M4, quite a few people honked their horns and gave me the thumbs up as the went past.
Mechanically she is sound, revs really well, and feels fast, the only intermittent issue is the oil pressure light, which flickers, but the oil pressure is fine, so it is probably a faulty sensor, they are £50.
I am sad to see her go, but I need the space and as I have a X19 Grand Finale with just 1, 100 miles from new, so it is a relatively easy decision to let someone else use her, I hope that the new owner will have as much fun as I have over the years.
Happy to do video viewings prior to an actual inspection. These cars were ahead of their time, great cars for British roads, and with two boots, they gobble up luggage, (compared to other small roadsters of the time), and with her engine mounted behind the driver and ahead of the rear axle, the balance and feel of the car is, in my opinion, quite unique.
This is a genuine car, and I am selling her because I need to get my classic car collection down to ten, as I don't have the space I used to have, and storage is expensive.
She has had seven previous owners, and the MoT, which has no advisories, is due for renewal in December.
