1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE Sunroof Coupe
Single-Family Ownership UNTIL 2025 | Matching Numbers | Highly Optioned | Unmolested | Documented Since the 1970s
This 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE Sunroof Coupe is matching-numbers engine, transmission, and chassis, and offered with a single-family ownership history backed by books, records, and service documentation dating to the 1970s AND is a rust free / accident free car that has never been restored!
Originally finished FROM THE FACTORY in Silver Metallic (DB 180) with a contrasting Black Roof (DB 040) per the data card, the car has since been refinished in uniform Silver Metallic, preserving the factory-correct color while giving the coupe a sleek, cohesive appearance. The interior is finished in Black Leather. As I'm sure you are aware, 1969 marks the final and most desirable model year before U. S. emissions regulations took effect, making this the last of the “clean engine bay” 280 SE Coupes.
This example is exceptionally well-equipped from the factory, has NEVER been restored and comes with highly sought-after options including:
Sliding Steel Sunroof
Air Conditioning with original warranty card
Becker Grand Prix AM/ FM Stereo with original rear speaker, balance control, and electric antenna
Power Windows all four windows
Desirable Floor-Shift Automatic Transmission
Rear Window Defroster
Insulated Glass
Whitewall Tires from the factory
Original Left-Side Exterior Mirror
Dual-tone Horns (City/ Country setting)
Original Factory Seat Belts and Safari style Headrests
Books, records, data card, radio guarantee card, service booklet, warranty card, metal data card, owners manual, supplement to owners manual and Catalog B.
The car is completely unmolested, retaining its original Becker Grand Prix radio, factory seat belts, headrests, and interior finishes including carpeting and leather. The Black leather upholstery is supple and well-preserved, the wood trim is rich and intact, and the dashboard and instruments remain clean and functional.
All body panels are straight with even gaps, and factory welds and stampings are visible, confirming its originality. The undercarriage is dry and rust-free, and the car drives confidently.
With its rare original features, unmodified condition, desirable options, and documented history, this 1969 280 SE Sunroof Coupe represents the perfect restoration candidate OR use as a "survivor" for years to come.
