Ordered by Maranello Concessionaires Ltd sales director Sean P Bealey on 15th January 1980 for May production. Finished in Blu Ribot with black hide and carpets . The car was completed and invoiced to Maranello Concessioniares Ltd on 4th July 1980 - a pencil note shows it was consigned on a sale or return basis to the new Ferrari agents in Gloucestershire “Rosso” By November 1980 it had not been sold and was invoiced to the London Ferrari agents HR Owen, who registered , JYN 226W to themselves as a demonstrator on 29th May 1981
The first owner was 17 year old director of a shipping company, Mr V T of London bought the car from Jonathan Kaisers of HR Owen following the A service which was carried out in July 1981 with 1100 miles. Whilst in HR Owen’s ownership the car was featured on an advertising post card for HR Owen outside of Buckingham Palace. Maintenance continued with HR Owen during Mr T’s ownership.
By May 1986 the car had covered 29000 miles and was in the ownership of a “L F esq” of London N9 . Maintenance including a major service was carried out by GTB Motorsport of Northwood.
The car returned to HR Owen in February 1988 for a 6250 miles service and was invoiced to “Hold Em Cars” Interestingly the car became the property of Mr I D of Kent the month before on the 20th of January 1988 .. on the 29 July 1988 @ 44504 miles the car was serviced by MCL group. Maintenance continued with Ferrari agents Modena Engineering Ltd of Surrey which included another major service checking/ adjusting valve clearances as well as fitting a new timing chain in June 1989 at 46593 miles. In mid 1990 David Wells Restorations of Croydon carried out a body restoration , repaint and fitment of new panels which took 251 hours at a cost of £10548-29 the car was then waxoiled and returned to the customer.
The last owner 47 year old “Mr P B” then of Middlesex bought the car from ARO Cars of Leytonstone’s with 48000 miles for £25000-00 on 30th of January 1991 , were it joined amongst other cars a 1958 Chevrolet Corvette.
Mr P B used the car sparingly , however he liked things to be right , on 31/ 05/ 2005 at 49126 miles the car was sent to respected engineers “Colin Clarke Engineering” for work including service and rebuild of both fuel distributors at a cost of £3793. 32 on the 21/ 09/ 2005 at 49126 miles further works including a total brake overhaul , with new discs etc and a N/ S/ R damper and all new bushes were fitted at a further £7396. 52 bringing the car into great condition , including a new MOT
For personal reasons “MR P B” put the car away in 2005/ 2006 at 49268 miles in his heated garage on carpet at his house were it remained unused until January of this year..
The car was taken to respected Ferrari specialist Steve Moody of SMDG for recomissioning were it has been freshly serviced and checked over with a bill of £4000-00
The car has a fresh MOT
