Engine / Mechanicals
Excellent mechanical condition with all maintenance & servicing carried out by reputable Caterham and Lotus specialists from new.
Current odometer reading is 5000 miles, with documented speedo replacement from Caterham Cars in 2005 at 11, 600 miles. Upgraded to larger 52mm alloy throttle body for improved throttle response and power increase from standard (the original plastic unit is retained with the car if required). Oil is clean and fresh and oil pressure is good. Brakes are good, and pull the car up straight and true. Wheel alignment carried out recently and new rubber gaiters fitted. The car drives, handles and stops exactly as it should with lively performance and classic exhaust note from the single box exhaust exiting to the passenger side.
Interior:
All in excellent condition complemented by comfortable S type seats in black leather with Caterham emboss, fitted with new Caterham road harnesses, carpeted cockpit and boot floor, black leather tunnel top, Everything in full working order. Concealed battery cut off switch for safety / security. Weather kit includes full hood and side screens, new half hood, full and half tonneau covers and all hood bags etc.
Exterior:
Finished in period shade of primrose yellow which really suits the car very well, combined with chrome headlights and classic flared wings which enhances the retro appeal. Chassis and bodywork are in excellent condition. There is no corrosion, all panels are straight and the original paintwork is exceptional with deep gloss and shine.
Wheels & Tyres:
The car sits on the original factory fitted Minilite style 14’’ alloys in near perfect condition and suit the car well. Avon ZV3 tyres all round with very good tread depth.
The Appeal:
The incredible roadholding, nimble handling and complete driver involvement, the Super Seven remains the best British lightweight sports car there is. The 120bhp output in a 550kg car makes for around 220 bhp/ ton so acceleration is lively with 0-60mph in 5. 8 and seconds. The ride is compliant, handling is intuitive and there's a decent amount of luggage space afforded by the rear De-Dion set up, which makes it an excellent all-rounder for country lane blasts, or longer trips. The power suits the car perfectly and allows you to exploit the full extent of the performance. The view along the louvered bonnet and over the flared wings, combined with classic sports exhaust note gives a wonderful old-school feel, but with the reliability of modern mechanics and confidence of low ownership costs. It is the purest driving experience and equally at home on twisty country lanes or longer-legged cruising. Everything about the Seven is exhilarating but unpretentious.

This is factory original Super Seven 1600 K series in a great colour scheme. All MOT’s from new show the slow and regular progression of the mileage. The car has been meticulously cared for, backed with history file and kept in a heated garage during my ownership. On the button and ready to be driven and enjoyed by the new owner.
