Rare Kawasaki ZXR 400 H1, £3500 ono. This example underwent a full restoration which started in 2020 and was competed in 2022. There's not many examples of these rare bikes left on the road in great condition, making her a real head turner. I have been informed that the vin number corresponds with a J1 model ( SP) . However, as I know that not all of the SP parts are on the bike and I have no proof to show this is a genuine J1, I'm selling her as a H1.
In the full restoration, the engine also received a rebuild including:
- cylinder head skimmed.
- Valve seats re-cut.
- bores re-honed.
- new piston rings.
- new gaskets and valve stem seals.
- new bottom-end bearing.
- gearbox tolerances checked.
- new timing chain and tensioner.
- the base gasket has also been removed to raise the compression ratio.
The bodywork is all original panels. Some have got previous repairs which can be seen from the inside, but not noticeable on the bike. The respray has been done professionally to an exceptional standard and is still in great condition.
The bike still rides like a little pocket rocket, happily revving all the way up to redline with no issues or over heating. A true joy to ride. selling purely because I've owned the bike 5 years and it simply doesn't get the use it deserves. There isn't currently a MOT on the bike but one will be put on the bike prior to sale.
