Descrição
BSA Bantam D7, manufactured 1966.
Gave up biking two years ago due to age related issues but bought this un seen as a Winter tinker project at the end of last year. Has evidence of previous resto work but been off road for a while.
This was to be my fifth and final Bantam project.
SO, new battery, new rectifier, new condenser, new plug, cleaned carb, new jets and needle, checked bore (no issues), new head gasket, new exhauster header nut, replaced centre stand.
Starts first kick now, hot or cold and ticks over. All electrics work and charges.
New fork bushes and seals, new speedo, new clutch cable and cork plates. Some cosmetic work done. Original seat with un damaged original cover. Tank is clean inside, chrome panels are in good order. Chrome otherwise is reasonable except front rim, bright but poor chrome. All in all a respectably tidy bike. Took it out for a 14 mile “shakedown” ride, pulls like a train, all gears select but second slips in and out of engagement when pulling hard. This is obviously engine out but my ability and will are now not as they used to be so this is the down side. Bill of sale reveals I paid £1600 but I’d be happy with something close to £1100, happy to negotiate. SORRY FOR ANY DELAY IN REPLYING, THERE IS A FAULT ON THE WEB SITE. I WILL GET YOU ASAP.
