I am offering my 1987 LR90 for sale. I’ve owned it for nearly 10 years and as I get older I am using it less, so I feel it would be better in the ownership of someone who can give it an even bettter home. Refurbished/ partial rebuild and modified 2016-17 by Taylor’s 4x4 of Cheshire. All subsequent repairs/ servicing carried out by Taylor’s LR specialists to current day
Originally a Hardtop commercial, it was converted to sort-top during restoration, the original top will be included in the sale as will cat flap doors all of which will need some work to bring it up to standard. The hard top is the more desirable ribbed version.
Original 150K mile TD engine was replaced with a 200 tdi defender power plant which was professionally refurbished at 60k miles and coupled up to an Alisport intercooler. (New Speedo fitted at this time).
Car will also be sold with vehicle relevant HUE registration, MOT to 13th March 2026. loads of extras and some spares also included. Restored and modified on existing excellent condition chassis, bulk-head and seat-box. New bonnet, front wings and rear tub fitted along with new tilt and top quality exmoor zip-up soft-top.
The engine bay has had new power steering pump and alloy reservoir, clutch and brake master cylinders and alternator during the rebuild.
Original front axle, Disco TD5 transfer box and rear axle, giving disc all round stopping power to accommodate the better power output from the new engine.
Series 3 style doors and grille/ front end with colour coded light bezels. Interior improvements with new steel and brushed aluminium instrument panel and steel locking centre cubby box. Lode Lane classic 17” steering wheel. Beige exmoor canvas seat covers and black nylon over covers also included. Battery charging and jump connection sited on the seat box to save seat removal should either be required. Front winch and new winch bar. Full stainless steel exhaust.
Also included as a complete package is a Sankey trailer converted to single draw bar with 50mm hitch, although car does have adjustable tow hitch with both ball and jaw coupling. Also included is a 2 bike-bike rack which fits onto the tow bar.
Any all repairs have always been done, i and relatively fastidious, so have spent plenty of money to keep the car in tip-top.
This car drives fantastic, pulls well and due to the axle and transfer box gives a much better road speed to engine revs result. With all the extras offers a fantastic package for its new owner.
