This car was almost a “barn find” in that it had been in storage for a number of years and once I had purchased it underwent a complete re-commissioning by APL SAAB specialists in Kirkham, Lancs.
The MOT history validates the low mileage.
The current reg plate will be included at the full asking price, but if not required will reduce the cost by £150 and the old number (55 plate) reassigned.
Attached is an invoice for all the work done and it now drives superbly. Smooth and powerful and yet I have managed 40+ mpg on long runs. The car is mechanically very good, has new wheels and Michelin tyres and has been under -sprayed with Lanogard.
The roof operation is as it should be and there are no issues with weather-roofing, ie, it does not leak.
The car is not perfect and needs some cosmetic work to the drivers (RHS) seat bolster, and a small (what looks like an old cig burn about 0. 5cm) on the base of the rear cushion. It’s hardly noticeable, but I mention it for completeness. The paintwork is good for its age and whilst it has some age related wear, is serviceable for many years to come. I am the 6th owner, but that is not excessive for convertibles as they tend to have short period of ownership- people sell them on for winter storage.
This car drives really well, is comfortable and quiet and is a pleasure to use come rain or shine.
Plenty of paperwork with the car and it comes with the full SAAB owners book pack in wallet.
It is currently taxed and insured so the mileage may slowly increase, but not by much as it is a second car.
