Description
DKW F89L Schnellaster - from 1951 from South Africa, UNIQUE! This is the first model 89L as a large-capacity flatbed, which was manufactured by DKW from 1949 and thus before the VW T1 Barndoor. These vehicles were only built in small numbers, in addition, this Schnellaster has already travelled halfway around the world!
Specially designed for export and equipped with right-hand drive and a mileage tachometer, this DKW was delivered to South Africa, where it spent its life until a few years ago. An absolutely unique piece and unlikely to be found a second time! The early models in particular are almost impossible to find today - these are characterised by many details, such as the 3-speed gearbox, the wing flares that were not yet present and the 20 hp engine. The engine turns and all three gears shift. The DKW has already been painted and rebuilt once. However, the car still needs some finishing touches. Due to the time it has been standing, all fluids should be replaced, the carburettor cleaned and a new battery installed. We will hand over the DKW with the papers from Africa, a customs certificate and an original parts list. Registration in Germany is possible without any problems with a full inspection. Please feel free to ask any questions. Please come and have a look. With kind regards, Ana
