Description

This is a Series 2 RSV Mille R Factory - V Twin - not the RSV4 which the ad suggests (can't seem to change that).

It's registered 24/ 02/ 2006. It has been loved, pampered and given WD40 lubed back rubs by the current owner since April 2015. But, due to ill health, it's not used much, so is hankering after a bit of action.

If you’re not familiar with the RSV, or were considering something expensive, boringly 'me too' predictable and obvious, like a Ducati, this is what people say:

From MCN Australia:
“On the track or on the street, it is all but impossible to fault the Ohlins suspension, or the four-piston radial Brembo brakes for that matter.”

“… radial brakes are becoming more common these days and once you have used them you won’t want to go back. Providing incredible feedback at the lever with eyeball popping stopping power at the pads, the Brembo-sourced items are absolutely first-class.”

“… Fast, expensive and exotic, the Aprilia Mille Factory is a motorcycle for the serious Italian sport-bike aficionado. Beautiful to behold, and even more beautiful to ride, there are only going to be a limited number coming to this country, so ownership is going to be the ticket to a very exclusive club.”

“… the power delivery is so rich, sumptuous and smooth, you will think you’ve died and gone to heaven, ... “

MCN Reader / Owner Review:
“I also have a 916, 998, and 999S and this RSV1000R Factory handily trumps them all. Chassis is exceptional with the Factory Ohlins, Rotax engine is bomb proof reliable and cheap to maintain unlike the Duc’s of the period. These bikes are a steal on the used market.”

The current owner didn’t spank the shit out of this bike anywhere near as much as it deserves. As you can see from the MOT history, it’s not been used much recently. This is due to him having a VFR800 (VTEC - also for sale) and some gnarly health issues. The latter being the only reason the bike is now reluctantly for sale.

But no expense was spared on the servicing, gifts & treats that were lavished upon it. The RSV comes with a comprehensive history file with records of deliciously unnecessary maintenance, and obsessive suspension tuning. This bike is where beautiful and brutal collide.

I am not the owner, I am selling on his behalf. If that is an issue for you, please don’t progress any enquiries.

The bike is located near Buckingham / Bicester.

Feel free to call if you want a chat about it. Please text or WhatsApp me before calling so I know that you're not trying to sell me solar panels - I tend to ignore those calls.

Price is a firm £4900 - the spec makes it worth this. Cash or bank transfer upon collection.

I may be able to help with delivery for a small fee, if you're a decent egg and not living on the Moon.

Some further thoughts: As I've already mentioned, I am not the owner of this bike. However, I am a biker and I'm used to quick stuff like Blackbirds, FZRs, GSXRs and so on. I have ridden this RSV and it's an absolute monster of a bike. If you've not given yourself the chance to get really familiar with a large capacity V-twin, then this just might be the best thing you ever experienced. The power is delivered like a punch in the shorts but is smooth and completely elastic from way low down in the rev range to really very fast at the top end. Twins 'talk' to you - they feel organic compared to a four.

This bike is small, light, nimble, with beautiful suspension and mind-bending brakes. For me, it's not a touring bike, (I'm old and large and now used to adventure style riding), but oh my God what an experience. Everybody has to have a large capacity V-twin, at some point in their life. MOT to 9th May 2026
There were two advisories:

- The chain needed adjusting (now done).
- The lower suspension mount has a small amount of play.

MOT / Mileage history:
- 10th May 2025 Mileage: 15, 747
- 18th May 2021: Mileage: 15, 611
- 15th Mar 2019: Mileage: 14, 925
- 11th May 2018: Mileage 13, 554
