Description
At rest the 750S does feel mighty heavy, but on the move all that mass seems to melt away. Changing down to enter a village, a blip of the throttle draws smiles and waves from pedestrians rather than angry. I feel like motorcycling royalty. That’s the magic of the MV name, and sound.
So wrote Gez Kane when he road tested the bike for Classic Bike magazine a few months after I bought the bike in 2020. Since then, I have covered 3, 375 trouble free miles on it. Due to advancing age it is about time to pass it on to a new owner who hopefully will enjoy it as much as I have. It might be worth mention that I am the current chairman of the MV Agusta Owners Club UK – this is why I got the chance to offer my 750S and Magni (since sold) to Classic Bike
The bike has been well maintained throughout its life. In 2022 the Kays from MV Meccanica Verghera ltd carried out a complete overhaul of the engine and brakes. They sorted out the carbs, shimmed as required and replaced the clutch. Since then the bike has run perfectly, in fact after the winter layover it started second go!!
The bikes history is well documented, I have a file full of invoices, MOT’s etc from previous owners.
As you can see the bike was displayed at the Easter Stafford show in a rather special display – I built a full sized replica of the ‘Minichamps’ 1:12 model of the 750S and put my bike in it. This unique display may be available for the new owner.
The tank, yokes, side panels and rear numberplate holder were resprayed in March 2025 by Racepaint. This was done because they were all a very slightly different shade of Red!
Note the photos of the bike with the full fairing are old ones. Photos of the bike without the fairings were taken in the last few days.
Bike will come with
• Full fairing – Currently not on the bike
• A rare small Perspex screen (this was an extra in the 70’s)
• Extra dual seat
• Red owners handbook
• Classic bike magazine from May 2020 with the 750S road test
• Workshop manual
Should also have some original tools from the tool kit to go with it as well
Details from the previous owner
It is an early disk brake model with the uprated engine. It was made on the 11 September 1973 and imported by the MV Concessionaires at that time, Ghus Kuhn motorcycles of 275 Clapham Road, Stockwell, London SW9, on 24 April 1974. It was one of only 6 imported to the UK that year.
It was sold on 5 July 1974 to Mr May, who owned Mays Carpets in Abingdon, who used it on the road and also did the occasional sprint and hill climb, although nothing too serious. Richard Boshier remembers the bike and shimming the cams during this time. He kept it for 21 years in his private collection before selling it to another Oxfordshire owner in September 1995 who kept it for a further 16 years. It then passed through the hands of another owner who only kept it for a couple of years before I bought it through a dealer in April 2012. I have kept it on the road and it has been used sparingly every year since.
It was originally fitted with the small Perspex screen which was available at the time and a handlebar mirror which are still with the bike. The last owner fitted an original full fairing.
The bike is complete with both keys, the original toolkit in a roll and a set of factory tools.
Documentation includes the red owner’s handbook – an extremely rare item - which has the first oil change written in the cover, spares list and sales brochure
A dual seat made in the interests of marital harmony and passenger footpegs which fit behind the silencer mountings which will go with the bike.
The motorcycle has never been restored.
The fairing and top and blue sides of the tank had been damaged by a leaking brake master cylinder and badly repainted when I got it and they have been resprayed.
