Very rare FG Frame prefix Aprilia.
The last of the true Af1 race replica 125 2 strokes.
After the AF ( Aprilia factory) range, the went RS and lost some of their cutting edge advances.
The Aprilia sintesi Af1 SP Was and still is the fastest production 125 ever made.
34 mm standard massive carburettor, Rave exhaust valve , 6 speed, single sided swing arm, upside down forks ( rebuilt/ rechromed as new costing £750. 00 from renowned suspension experts motortecniks suffolk) large 320mm iron mix disc for better braking. Twin headlights. Electric start. This was officially the swan song to the race class Aprilia 2 strokes in the latest 80s/ 90s.
I've seen and owned many 100s of motorbikes and the styling and metalwork as standard on these bikes hasn't been equalled on any 125 since. The moulding of the tank around the frame, aforementioned swing arm etc were and still are first and lasts in the 125 world.
This bike runs, has had much regular work so it can be ridden and has recently been motd and has v5 in my name and address.
It is dry stored, has a pair of zero miles pirelli rosso tyres at £370 fitted.
New rechromed service forks £750 alone.
If this bike was concourse it would be £5, 000 to £6, 000.
As an ex trader and a current busy business owner, I don't have time to ride this bike. And it really wants using by a lad or an enthusiastic collector who will enjoy it as it should be enjoyed.
This bike in this colour was available for one year only so is very very rare. Far rarer than an rs 125 or 250 for example. But interestingly uses very commonly available engine parts. The engine is a rotax engine with 1000s of mechanics are familiar with, and has a good parts list new from the internet so luckily repairs , tuning , rebuilds etc are easy to have done.
Realy the bike needs recommissioning as far as needs fresh fuel, new battery ( electric start only etc) With body work all being there, it isn't concourse hence again the price reflects this fully.
No discounts accepted and please no one who thinks this bike will be as new ready for 100 mile a day commute etc. Then this is NOT the bike for you. It has for me always started , ALWAYS got me home, even with a little pust start as it weights about what a push bike does!
I will be sorry to see it go but pleased someone with more time than me can enjoy it.
32 bhp as standard these machines set up properly are still the fastest liquid cooled Legal 125s you can ride.
