Description
1967 Bond 875 Mk 1 3-wheeler.
Stripped down and rebuilt, strengthening the body shell as required.
Much money and time has been spent but a change in job forces the sale.
The work is 99% done with coolant leaks, doors and paintwork to sort.
Using the Hillman Imp 875cc drivetrain, the engine runs okay, remaining cool and with good oil pressure.
It's all there and just needs someone with some time to complete the work.
Please note that this is not a car for the larger person as it's a microcar and the pedals especially are for smaller/ narrower feet!A wonderfully unique British micro car from the mind of Lawrie Bond.
Following on from the Bond Mini-cars and pre-dating the Reliant Robin this little slice of eccentricity caught my eye: It will comfortably blow the doors off a period Mini Cooper, in a straight line... But saying that the two and four wheeled legend John Surtees put one around a racing track...
Bought 10 years ago having spent decades under a tree, loads of work has been done while trying to keep some of the original owners changes (more comfortable Imp seats, sports steering wheel, less stark interior, etc).
Along with with structural work (GRP semi-monocoque with steel/ ally reinforcement), the brakes, suspension, etc where rebuilt. The engine was rebuilt in 2018.
