Description

Exceptional KAWASAKI Z1A 900 for sale - £21, 995

Frame Z1F-30024

Engine Z1E-30084

Mileage 30770

Manufactured in December 1973, this bike currently represents one of the finest original examples available.

The bike displays a wonderful patina, the like of which is never repeatable. The original candy green and gold paint is deep and luxurious, and the chrome retains an amazing lustre.

Having been in the same family for many years and always dry stored in a dehumidified atmosphere, there has been little need for restoration.

The silencers and wheel rims display the correct part numbers, and, naturally, the engine and frame numbers confirm that they have never been separated.

In 2023, Joe Brown at Staffordshire Wheel Works rebuilt the wheels, using model-correct butted zinc-plated steel spokes with gold passivated nipples from Z-Power. The original spokes were kept and are included in the sale.

At the same time, new Avon Road Rider tyres were fitted, along with a twin front disc upgrade from Z-Power, and again, all original parts are included in the sale.

I have a raft of paperwork detailing servicing, maintenance and spares, together with an original Kawasaki handbook. One document advises that the frame was powder-coated in 2005. The exceptional condition supports this, yet it was before my ownership.

The most recent service work was carried out by Kawasaki guru and racing legend Alf Hubbard at Kawasaki Main Dealers, Alf’s Motorcycles in Worthing West. Alf was given a limitless budget to achieve operational perfection. The bike is cherished at Alf’s and is often displayed at their events.

Imported from Arizona in 1995 and registered in the UK with a historic vehicle V5 registration, the bike is now tax and MOT-exempt. That said, should the new owner wish to have the bike supplied with a fresh MOT certificate, this will of course be accommodated.

Often exhibited, the bike has won ‘Best in Show’ at the Ardingly Classic and also starred on display at the inaugural Moto Union Japanese Bike Festival in September 2024.

The bike is not simply a show pony and is therefore likely to show a minor increase in mileage as it is regularly ridden. Having said that it has just one Best Japanese bike 1970 -1979 at the 2025 Motor Union show.

Now looking for a new custodian, the bike can be professionally shipped worldwide at the buyer's additional expense.
