Description
The bike is in great condition but it has a patina and looks like and old bike should, in my view anyhow.
I have spent rather a lot of cash on one mod which really improves the bike. In stock form these bikes would go out of tune really quickly and the charging systems were never the best. To stop these issues I had a fully electronic ignition and charging system installed from Vape.
- details above
to make it yet better I augmented this with a mappable timing system and had it calibrated on a rolling road by Spa Motorcycles of Cheltenham (They are an amazing place to take your classic bike, especially old two stokes) all bills for the work are in the photos.
If you want the original charging system and points etc. I still have them and I am happy to include these in the sale. The bike doesn’t produce any more power than when it was new but it does start first kick every time and never goes out of tune.
The mileage is not genuine. In truth I have no idea how many miles it has done but don’t worry!
It has done plenty of miles.
She hasn’t been out in the rain for at least the last 3 years and she has spent the last two winters in a bubble cover with a dehumidifier for company.
The bike does not need an MOT so it is in fact MOT'd from now until the end of time.
It is also zero rated for Road Fund Licence and cheap to insure.
It is a joy to ride and a real head turner. I look at a lot of "old," bikes on the road from this era and they look brand new. Owners have restored them to the point where they are no longer authentic. A bit like Trigger's Broom.
For those who don't know, Trigger was a road sweeper who got a medal from his employer because he had kept the same broom for 20 years. In order to do this he had maintained it by replacing the head 14 times and the handle 17 times.
I kind of think if you have a 50 year old bike with sparkling chrome and a showroom finish, it isn't really a 50 year old bike.
This bike is 50+ years old and looks it BUT it runs right and is reliable.
