Back story:
With a heavy heart, I am offering for sale my dream car, a late-model Mercedes R129 SL320, which is also ULEZ compliant. I bought the car about 2 years ago from Olly at Prestige Car Service, one of the most knowledgeable specialists on these fantastic cars. After purchasing the car, I performed a plethora of additional preparations, including detailing and ceramic coating from Darren at Hypergloss PVD and maintained the car mechanically with MercCare. I then embarked on the road trip of a lifetime from London to Athens and back without a single fault in this spectacular car. It really lived up to and even surpassed the expectation I had of this car as a true long-distance cruiser.
Soon after returning to the UK, I unexpectedly emigrated abroad for work, and hence I am now in a situation where I have no choice but to let go of a car I truly thought would remain in my possession forever.
Specification:
This is a late 2001 variant SL 320 and is equipped with every desirable option that I am aware of. This includes:
· Panoramic hard top with original Mercedes stand
· Xenon lights
· Cream Nappa leather interior
· Tanzanite blue metallic paint
· Heated seats, etc…
Condition:
On the exterior, the car is in lovely condition, helped by the incredible richness of the blue paint. The ceramic coating applied to the body, wheels, glass and fabric roof also means that it is extremely easy to keep the car looking its best at all times.
The interior is also exceptionally good for the age. The leather seats are not perfect as this is a completely original, but well-looked-after car; therefore, they show evidence of the car's age. The wood is in very good condition, and in general, there are again no material areas of wear or damage to report.
Mechanically, the car is also good, as MercCare recently attested to when the car visited for its annual service and some other maintenance items. As mentioned before, I drove the car from the UK to the far end of Europe and back without issues. If this does not attest to the car’s mechanical reliability, then I don’t know what else will.
