Honda CBR 1100 XX Super Blackbird, total mileage 26, 440, ULEZ compliant.
With much regret I must part with my lovely Blackbird after enjoying 8 years of pure pleasure on Sunday ride outs in the dry. Not as young as I used to be and my joints are starting to speak to me.
The total mileage is 26, 440 as I replaced the KM speedo when the 20mph zones appeared around where I live ( the s/ h speedo came with 12890 miles already on it and old KM one had 40, 323)
It comes with a Yoshimura Tri-Oval titanium exhaust system which must save a massive amount of weight. Makes a nice sound but not too loud.
It has a recent new rear suspension unit , plus new Metzeler Roadtec tyres, Brembo brake pads F&R, and if fully serviced ready to tour. ULEZ exempt. Mr Honda certainly made an excellent motorcycle when he produced this sports tourer.
Being the carburettor version, the power delivery is very smooth.
It was the era when Mick Doohan was 500cc world champion and whoever commissioned replicating the Repsol colour scheme must have spent a fortune, they even painted the frame. I had some of the paintwork refreshed by Dream Machine a few years ago and have many receipts for the parts I have changed.
I feel the new owner will enjoy this motorcycle as much as I have.
