bmw e30 mtech 1 sport 1987
Good usable e30 put back on the road this February after being off the road since 2004. originally saved from a scrap yard with another e30 sat on the roof and was dry barn stored until I bought the car.
original car from wellsway Bath and stayed around the area all its life still has the original dealer plates
October 2024 I started work I replaced both inner and outer arches with original rust free ones from another shell also replaced both front floor & corner sections all to a very good standard.
the underside was completely stripped out with all of the front crossmember, rear subframe & all other metal parts either powder coated or replaced. all brake lines & fuel line's replaced with cupro nickel pipework and all flexy pipes replacing with all new discs & pads.
original lsd removed stripped and cleaned found to be in as new condition feels like brand new
alloys wheels all refurbished at wheelhouse Ipswich x5 including centre caps with new mid range tyres
the engine was a in good running order all gaskets replaced sump removed and cleaned along with a new Cambelt kit & water pump etc
suspension was replaced with bilstein b6 kit with new 40mm ibach springs
interior is in excellent condition all seat bolsters and been retrimmed with a dark black material, carpet, headlining, door cards all in great condition. the dashboard is also in crash free condition.
my plan with the car was to restore the underside and just get the car on the road to enjoy and that's exactly what I achieved, since February I've completed nearly 2000 fault free miles 600 mile round trip to Devon and home without an issue the engine is still dry with zero oil leaks and is 100% reliable. it only requires some cosmetic repairs and then a full repaint.
there are lots I have missed I have the full log book, service booklet & all of the receipts for the parts I have bought.
it's covered 148k with 7 owner's from new and states sport on the logbook
