Description
Only running Trojan RE in the world. Only cabriolet RE in the world. One of three surviving rear engine models. The other two are saloon models, in the Trojan Museum Trust and the other at the Lanes Museum in the US&A. Made in 1930, first registered in 1931. Accepted by LC&E section VSCC.
Running and driving but needs more work to make good for every day transport. The RE uses the same paired twin two stroke motor as the underfloor engined Utility, 3 Door Tourers and vans, but was placed vertically at the rear, with chain drive forwards through a 3 speed epicyclic gearbox to the differential-less rear axle. Not a great design but certainly mechanically very interesting.
All that being said, just too many cars and projects and in the way so need it gone. So available for a low price to get it gone.
Car is located in Hertford, East Hertfordshire. A unique and fascinating device. Sure to gather the crowds at any show.
