Bought in South Africa in 2004 and used there when we visited my father. In 2017 brought to the Netherlands in a container and immediately serviced/ overhauled and the engine and gearbox overhauled. The van has spent most of its life in the dry African sun and is therefore in exceptional condition. On superficial rust spots that have been treated afterwards and a dent here and there. The van is solid as a rock and original. With the engine rebuild two Weber carburettors have been fitted. The van runs and shifts brilliantly. I love keeping a car original. So you can see every mark and dent. But I can imagine the new owner wanting a pristine, lacquered-looking bus. This van is also very suitable for that. I wish this van a new owner who will enjoy it with as much care and love as I do. Why am I selling the van, you may ask. Because I want to use the money from the sale to make our little off-grid cottage in Portugal. The van is MOT’d until April 2027 and is tax-free. I don’t think you’ll find in Europe such an original, hard, right-hand-drive VW T2 for this price.
