“Tilly” is a 1969 VW panel van, discovered as a barn find in 2021 and lovingly brought back to life over several months in 2022 by my late husband. He poured his heart into the restoration, replacing everything from the floor pans to the electrics and interior. She now fires up first time, every time.

Tilly is a rare van in good condition. With a little extra love she could be show-ready, but even as she stands she’s a solid, characterful classic with plenty of life ahead of her.
She even carried my husband on his final journey – not as something sombre, but as a fitting tribute to his love for VWs.
I had hoped to use her over the summer, but never got round to it – and that sealed the deal. Simon was the enthusiast, not me. Tilly deserves to be with someone who will drive her, show her, and enjoy her the way he always imagined.
