1980 MZ TS 150 UK BIKE WITH INCREDIBLE 5, 494 MILES & 1 OWNER FROM NEW
100% Factory standard (I genuinely don't think it has ever been apart) including period quaint rack & top box. Even has the remains of original dealer sticker still on side panel - MZ/ Yamaha Dealer - Jack Nice of Walthamstow, London.
Was ridden for first few years by its only owner then put away & never ridden again approximately 30 years ago & then bought off widow known by Brian who actually used to work in Jack Nice but never registered the bike in his name or recommissioned it.
Consequently a "true" 1 owner unmolested barn find where every nut & bolt is original, including superb condition seat, I think tyres & obviously all paint & chrome work, and even the exhaust.
Nothing is missing except owners manual & service book, even have the tool kit. The rubber fork gaiters, chain case, clock surrounds are all amazing - no perishing & even has the original plastic headstock bolt cover & 4 yoke bolt covers - It is so complete.
So, I was about 2/ 3rd through cleaning it up without restoring as the paintwork, frame, wheels are all in very very good overall condition & had every intention of getting it all sorted this summer BUT I didn't ... too busy! So, time to sell on & take a loss.
Whilst it has some patina it would seem criminal to me to restore it as everything there is in pretty good fettle & as they say "they are only original once". Any surface rust on the brightwork just comes straight off with a little gentle elbow grease & I am loving how well has cleaned up with my input thus far.
Now I am not a mechanic so whilst it has cleaned up well I am not going to try & get the engine running. Compression is great, turns over no problem & with such low miles it was barely run in & judging the overall condition I have no reason to suspect anything but all good & being a small 2-stroke engine with single carb, there can't be too much work.
To sum up, there is some patina due to its age & not being ridden BUT a very unique find of a classic MZ genuine 1 owner low mileage unicorn that will be hard to find again.
