I have always maintained this car and have just spent 5k on mechanical work... but sadly it developed a new problem shortly after the work was done.
Car developed white smoke from exhaust on a hot day. Not from cold start but when up to temp. Suspected coolant crossover pipe at back of engine, around 1k to fix if that. However I have lost patience with running to garage after my ancient BMWs.
Just spent 5k on other work before this probem popped up (oil service, air filter, rocker covers and gaskets, CCVs). Also new battery, new rear sway bar and drop links, new steering rack, aircon regas, new wiper arm. Recently had all front end steering arms changed, full alignment and various bolts, rubbers and gaskets changed.
Car will be sold with the original 19" wheels, which have no tyres. Buyer to arrange tyres!!
Bodywork needs attention. Bumper stonechipped, lacquer failure on roof and mirrors, scratches on rear bumper.
Driver seat discoloured but easily treated by a valeter... interior otherwise immaculate.
Currently SORN with no MOT. Happy to MOT for buyer.
Always cared for in my ownership but the paintwork has gotten away from me while I needed to mechanical and the latest issue means the car needs a few thousand pounds spent on it (around 1. 5k mechanical and 2. 5k bodywork).
However it was always a top example and will make an incredible car for someone with very little expenditure.
Car was chosen to be one of the 100 cars selected to celebrate BMW's centenary in 2016. I have a magazine feature which shows it pictured.
Would come with two folders of history, leather Alpina owners book and all manuals... and a USB drive with over 1000 photos.

The price reflects the work and conditon but feel free to make me an offer. Its been my pride and joy for 12 years and its not nice seeing it sat around. I just want the car to have a new owner now. A stunning machine, quiet and smooth beyond belief, but with devastating torque.
Power delivery is unlike anything else you've ever driven. An absolute sledgehammer in the midrange which just builds and builds. I know at least two people who bought RS6s and went back to their old E60 B5 again.
Coupled with the quietness and smooth ride, it is more like a plane than a car. From outside the car it sounds like a jet taking off.
Faster than just about anything on the road unless you are in a supercar.
Reliable, runs on basic oil, filters and plugs. Regular servicing will keep it sweet.
Supercharger is as good as the day I bought it over 11 years ago.
I have a spare charger which could be negotiated as a separate sale, as could the 20" wheels which have brand new Michelin PS4S tyres.
While the car does have bodywork to sort, it really only needs a small amount spending mechanically.
Sadly I do need something newer for work and, with three cars, one has to go.
