Description
Mini Motor engine on a Rudge Whitworth bicycle from 1953
An Italian design, the Mini-Motor 'clip-on' engine was manufactured in the UK by Trojan Ltd of Croydon, Surrey and sold in large numbers at a time when there was an immense demand for cheap motorised transport. The self-contained, 49. 9cc two-stroke power unit was mounted above a bicycle's rear wheel, which it drove via a friction roller, and was capable of propelling a cycle at speeds of up to 30mph.
This bike is very original with Sturmey Archer 3 speed rear hub (pedal only), Smith speedo, bell, tyre pump workshop manuals and some history
Runs but will need a little fettling, motor needs adjusting to drive on rear wheel (occasionally slips on the tyre
In original condition never been painted
Any questions just ask, l am trying to reduce my collection of motorcycles. Only selling as reducing collection
