New to Watney Brewers and supplied by Ford Dagenham London.
One of the best ‘Fordson Forward Control vehicles’ available.
Underwent an extensive total nut & bolt restoration some years back and still retains its absolute ‘Impeccable condition’ throughout.
Fully functioning, running, driving and is roadworthy. Show museum worthy.
Historic vehicle classification. Excempt from Tax & MOT
Engine is the original Fordson flathead V8 petrol 8cylinder sidevalve 3622cc engine with the desirable 4 speed gearbox (which was a £12 optional extra), and rear wheel drive.
Fully rebuilt, and recently fully serviced.
It’s been greased up recently and the gearbox & diff oils have also been replaced too.
BHPerformance also reconditioned & tuned the carburettor at the beginning of the year.
Ticks over as smooth & quite as a sewing machine.
Starts on the electric ignition. However the manual cranking handle brace & mount is included. Key ignition switch and a steering lock as standard.
Although the accelerator pedal is for driving, there is also a separate Throttle Control switch for the ‘cruise control’ of the era.
Sitting in 7. 00 20c Firestone tyres all round.
6v electrics. Brand new battery recently installed.
Wooden dropside body is in ‘as new’ condition. All three sideboards drop down & function as new. There is a very handy solid oak storage box fixed next to the bulkhead.
It also comes with the original skid cellar ladders and 2 oak barrels as shown.
Measurements are 11ft body length and 6. 5ft body width.
The overall truck is 16. 5ft in length from bumper to taillight.
Paintwork is perfect top to bottom. Hand painted sign writing in the incredible ’Watneys Brewery’ livery.
This is show ready! Very clean on top and underneath.
Petrol tank holds approximately 12 gallons (54. 5 litres). Not to forget, using the lead replacement additive (costs around £9 per bottle) which lasts around 5 full tanks.
The cab is also in fantastic condition as expected,
