It may be time to find a new home for ‘Oscar’
He is a genuine 1970 model. 601 2 stroke with 6volt electrics. Although he has had some parts from newer models fitted.
We’ve had him since April. He’ had 4 new tyres (plus a part worn spare) new brakes all round. Passenger sill, floor and sections of boot floor cut out and new fabricated sections welded in. Floors then painted with 2k Raptor.
He has been painted by a previous owner in the ‘lucky’ green colour, using a fence sprayer. So the finish isn’t great but it adds to his character and charm.
Will happily sit at 50mph on dual carriage ways. Healthy compression of 90psi on each cylinder.
Also comes with some useful spares (panels, exhaust, 2 gearboxes (early and late) plus some other useful stuff!)
There is an occasional clunk on one (or both) driveshaft(s). And a rattle, which I think is clutch related. Neither cause any driving or reliability issues.
