Description
Purchased in 1985 and used daily as the family transport until family grew too large. Car was then retired to the
house garage in 1988. Over the following years the car was dismantled as restoration work was carried out.
In 2010 the car was sent to Classic Car Specialist “Simon J Robinsons”, for the completion of the restoration of
the body shell. This work included for the final fitting of new front wings, new rear wings, new front under tray,
passengers side rear inner wheel arch, new rear bumper support members, new passenger’s door skin. The new
parts were all new original “Mercedes Supplied Original parts” not re-production parts. When the restoration of the
body shell was complete at Simon Robinsons the rear of the car was painted in the original colour of Mercedes
white. Interior colour, seats, trim, carpets are red. At that time the front wings and driver’s door remained in primer,
which is still the case to date. Due to long term storage the engine will not turn. All the welding has been done on this car. More pictures to go on to show the body restoration in progress.
