Description
Bought this back in April with the intention of keeping it long term & doing a full underside resto on as it’s a good solid example with no rot.
However my circumstances have changed & I am moving house shortly & have neither the time nor the storage space to keep her as I’ve already got an older classic project on the go too.
She’s a nice tidy example of a 170 & would make a really nice cheap weeekend modern classic for somebody
Currently sitting on Focus RS alloys all with good tyres & they really do suit it give it that edge.
I also have the original wheels that will come with it which are currently painted black hence if you want a standard look they will require a refurb.
Back in August I took the car around the NC500 in Scotland, did 1500 miles over 3/ 4 days & it drove absolutely superb & never missed a beat.
It had new rear discs & pads & an oil/ filter change before that trip & also the coolant flushed & renewed.
It’s MOT’d till October 26 & does have a couple of minor advisories for bushes, however I’m prepared to negotiate a bit to cover the cost of getting these sorted as I really haven’t got the time atm to get them done.
The only other issues I’m aware of are
1. The EML light is on due to it having a scorpion stainless exhaust system on (sounds really nice & not too loud) i think maybe swapping the O2 sensor would sort that.
2. The exhaust heat shield is rattling slightly & needs re-fixing, nothing of a job if you’ve got somewhere inside to do it, which I currently haven’t due to my other project occupying my garage.
Other than that this is a really good solid example of the MK1 Focus & are fast becoming a modern classic.
I absolutely love this car & if I’m honest I really don’t want to let it go but unfortunately I have no choice with my circumstances as they are & I could do with money towards my house move.
I am prepared to negotiate a bit on price but won’t give it away as I know how hard it’s getting to find solid examples of these at this kind of money, forget all the cheap rotten ones you see for sale, & believe me I’ve seen plenty when I was looking for one they’re not worth the mither. Buy a good solid one in the first place & build from there.
I’d really like it to go to an enthusiast owner & somebody that would take it to the next level & show it etc as I intended
to do when I bought it. The car comes with the Ford handbook & service book with 6 stamps from its early years up to 41k & a folder full of receipts & invoices for work carried out over the years.
Unfortunately I have no written proof the cambelt has been replaced however the previous owners seem to have well cared for the vehicle & I'm pretty sure it has been replaced at some point not too long ago.
I have inspected the belt visually & it does appear to be fairly new & in very good condition hence I haven’t gone to the expense of getting it done as it seemed a bit of a waste of money but obviously that’s down to your personal choice wether to get it replaced or as I did get it inspected & make an informed decision.
