Description
• Under the bonnet sits a turbocharged 2. 0-litre ‘EJ20’ flat-four, with an 8, 000rpm redline, which sends power to all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
• This example was originally a Japan-delivered model, which was imported to UK with an auction grade of 4B, and has been used and enjoyed for just under a year.
• This Impreza WRX STi Spec-C Type RA is one of just 300 examples produced and only ever sold in Japan
• The odometer shows 98, 126 Kms (60, 972 miles) from new.
• The car has been fully checked on a ramp (by a fully trained technician), see photos.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
• Based on the Spec-C (Competition) STi, the RA or ‘Record Attempt’ edition features thinner glass, a lighter subframe, an aluminium boot lid, a rally-style fresh air hatch in the roof, and an intercooler water sprayer kit.
• The model also features a twin-scroll IHI turbocharger, equal-length headers, and a lower ride height with firmer springs and dampers.
• It rides on a set of 17-inch 12-spoke standard alloy wheels and gold Brembo callipers from the factory, shod in brand new Toyo tyres.
• The factory specification includes a black leather-trimmed steering wheel, automatic air conditioning, Driver Controlled Centre Differential (DCCD), and electric windows.
• Externally, this example has been upgraded with an aftermarket bonnet with two additional carbon air vents and hydraulic bonnet struts.
• Inside, the cabin is standard apart from an aftermarket boost gauge and Sat Nav.
• Under the bonnet is an upgraded Injen air intake.
• The car comes with a spare wheel, original jack still in its Subaru bag, owner’s manual and service history.
• It has had a full service include Millers oil, oil filter, new spark plugs.
• It has also had a new fuel pump and new standard map provided by Subaru specialists Engine Tuner in Plymouth. It was also run up on their dyno and the result sheet is in the photos showing a very healthy 312hp.
• Dry stored. The Spec C Type RA is, put simply, the sharpest razor-edge of the GD-generation Impreza WRX STi. Where the standard STi was already a formidable machine, the RA - standing for 'Record Attempt' - went further still, shedding weight through thinner glass, a lighter subframe, and an aluminium boot lid, while adding rally-derived features such as a roof-mounted fresh air hatch and an intercooler water sprayer kit. Paired with a close-ratio six-speed gearbox, these cars were built with one purpose in mind: outright performance.
The car still feels tight with no rattles and a very clean chassis.
