A BIT OF BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The MGB debuted in 1962 and was an almost instant success. There was a production run of almost 20 years and MGBs were the best-selling sports car in the world for much of this time.
THIS MGB
This particular MGB has the best characteristics for a classic roadster; red paintwork with chrome bumpers and chrome wire wheels. It has the 5 bearing “B” series engine, and a four speed gearbox with overdrive (on 3rd and 4th gear). The oil pressure is always 60. The engine bay has never been cleaned. An inspection will confirm there are NO OIL LEAKS.
It was registered in February 1970. I have owned it for 6 years. It gets serviced every year; and I do all the washing and polishing.
THE EXTERIOR
The paint is in excellent condition across the whole car with deep gloss all round. Wheel arches are clean and very sound. Panel fit is good with a snug-fitting bonnet and a flush boot lid. The chrome bumpers retain a deep shine – no pitting – and are straight with no dents. The rubber overrides are firmly mounted and scrape free.
THE INTERIOR
The dashboard and door cappings are walnut and adds to the car’s classic looks. The interior of the doors has a deep black lining, with “sports” style window winder and door pull. The black seats are firm and have a red lining. The black carpets are clean and, retaining a good pile and colour.
And now THE REASON my MGB is for sale.
As you can see, I did intend to keep the MGB for another five years. But, my two sons have recently inherited some money and both have announced how they will spend their portion of the inheritance money.
So now it is time for me to move on……….
………. By selling the MGB
………. and taking extra money out of my savings.
………. I can own another Jaguar (See last the picture). I brought this car in February 2020. I wanted a "classic" MGB. It had to be a red roadster with chrome wire wheels. The WALNUT dashboard and door caps were a bonus !
