Description
I purchased the vehicle from Hexham Horseless Carriages, Northumberland in April 2022. I then drove it to Northern Ireland where I reside. I have kept the vehicle in a dry garage. I have added just on 2000 miles since then. With a major service having been done just before purchase I have just replaced the oil and filter myself every 18 months.
There is a fair amount of paperwork going back to about 2011 and stamps in the maintenance book to 1993. In the folder there are the print outs and original MOT certificates going back to 1992.
In the maintenance book there is mention of a replacement engine being put in 2005, but there is no other paperwork on this. The engine number seems to coincide with same year of manufacture as the car.
The exterior is in good condition with kidney bowls and sills being professionally redone in 2024. The windscreen and rubber were replaced in 2025.
The door window seals have also been replaced in 2025. The passenger side window struggles to lift and go all the way down and would need to be looked at.
The door and rear leather panel have been upgraded with black leather and red stitched items, but the original ones will come with the car. The rear whale tale was removed but will also come with the car. The original steering wheel has been replaced with a Momo Prototipo, but the original wheel can come with the car.
This was a sport spec version, which had the electric sport seat and whale tale and Bilstein shocks, and 16 inch wheels (6J and 7J). The original wheels have been swapped for 7 and 8 J aftermarket wheels from Euromeister. The original wheels can come with the car if sold at asking price.
The interior is mostly in good condition, with the dash and door cards being particularly good. The front seats are a bit tired and will probably need to be retrimmed as there is some cracking in the leather which can be seen in the photographs. The knobs on the side of the drivers seat that tilt the seat for passenger access to the rear have come off, but have replacements to go on. The tilt function still works with the front under seat lever. The seat electrics work on both seats and the seat frames are solid.
The battery on the car is brand new. It starts and drives well with plenty of grunt. With a smooth delivery through the revs with a lovely howl after 5000rpm. There is a small oil leak that I believe is coming from the top of the oil tank where the rubber pipe joins it.
In absolute blast to drive and a real head turner. The guards red paint is an 80s classic and looks great on the car. Overall, a great car that has been a privilege to own. With the top down in summer, there is no better place to be.
