Description
For Italian classic car enthusiasts, here’s a unique opportunity: I’m selling this Fiat 600 Jungla, an icon of 1960s off-road design built by Carrozzeria Savio on Fiat 600D underpinnings. Produced between 1965 and 1974 in only about 3, 200 examples, this car stemmed from Gianni Agnelli’s visionary idea to compete with the Mini Moke and win military contracts. Its name "Jungla" (jungle) evokes adventure, and not by chance: it was designed to be ultra-light and paradroppable from cargo aircraft, ideal for operations on rough terrain, beaches or recreational use. Technically, it features a rear-mounted 4-cylinder engine of 767 cc (46. 8 cu in), with 32 HP at 4, 600 rpm and a torque of 39 Nm at 2, 800 rpm, coupled to a 4-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive. The compact dimensions - length around 3. 2 metres, weight around 585 kg - make it nimble and easy to handle, with independent suspension and drum brakes on all wheels. The chassis is derived from the Fiat 600, but the body in sheet metal and plastic is Spartan: no doors (removable or optional), fold-down windscreen, a foldable soft-top (here absent in the photos, but easily restorable) and a 4-person cabin with brown vinyl seats. It was designed for light off-road, with knobby tyres and a design that prioritises practicality: flush round headlights, minimal side mirrors and tubular bumpers for basic protection.
