Runs and drives nicely
1600 twin port with twin Kadron carbs.
Standard VW floorpan, suspension, steering brakes and engine make this kit a rebody
and so is registered as a Volkswagen Beetle but the V5 has been changed to say Coupe under body style to represent the shape.
That is how early kits were registered.
It is not a Q plate, is Mot exempt, tax exempt, New style V5 in my name. Registered 1963.
Insured for £15000 on a classic insurance policy.
Mot & road tax exempt.
Very good overall condition, looks very expensive and a stunning colour sprayed a few years back by a previous owner (originally green).
Tyres (Kuhmo) are excellent, nearly new, the period wolfrace are staggered sizes and the car sits very low. I fit easily at 6ft 3" however.
New Momo steering wheel, period bucket seats in the classic waffle pattern as on old Porsche and BMW.
Lights and indicators working, brake lights, but wiper needs fitting.
Nee battery new airfilters, fuel lines, fuel filter and the car starts first time even from cold.
It runs nicely and is useable.
The car is very low, and takes a little practice to drive as its like nothing else! It does however have very good visability out of that enormous front screen, (perfect condition) and very expensive (£1400), reasonable visibility out the back and with the twin carbs and all weight removed is fast and handles well too.
No rust, standard floorpan in good condition, non-IRS rear suspension, later front beam and suspension as its 4 lug wheels, front disc brake conversion.
I use it locally regularly, it'll sit at 65-70 on a bypass but if you drive away bear in mind its not a new car and not a supercar! It's loud and old school but great fun.
