I've decided on putting my much loved basically original mk2 golf gti up forsale, the car has basically been restored except the original paint work. The car was garaged starting 2014 and still is now apart from when i rarely drive it about 200-500 miles a year if that, i've had the car since the second covid lock down and this car has practically been restored apart from the original paint work if i own a car like this i want it to be sorted and as mint as i can get it, i was going to get the outside blown over at some point to truly turn it into a original show car but ive spent far to much money getting this far it owes me more than i am putting the car up for. the paint looks good and people say it's mint but i know where all the age related marks are, there's a tiny bit of rust under the windscreen passenger side and a tiny bit under rear light passenger side and a couple tiny specs both front doors low down you don't really notice unless your looking just trying to be honest. its a lovely car which gets meny looks and comments where ever i go. The interior not really much to say about that it's absolutely mint looks like it's never been sat in. The car drives brilliantly it feels like a new car and engine pulls well and makes a brilliant noise and the car also feels lovely and tight. Rust Repairs
Strip car and install on rollover jig. Repairs to O/ S outer sill, closing panel, strenghtening plates O/ S jacking area and rear inner arch, fuel filler neck bracket and inner hole skin, rear inner and outer arch, N/ S rear arch valance corner, N/ S jacking plate and inner outer sill, Battery tray front patch, Repair front wings.
Underneath car has had service rust ground back in places and the whole underside of car has been wax oiled, while car was on the jig the engine came out and was stripped and what needed replacing was and what didn't has been cleaned and painted the same with all parts underneath the car were taken off cleaned painted or replaced where needed.
