Description
This is a Transit Mk 3, with a Mk 5 engine inside.
MOT'd til next March by which time it will have entered Classic MOT exemption.
Originally a camper and since then converted to be properly insulated, insides redone including a wood burning stove and chimney added. Leisure battery system.
Major welding needed on the front: needs a new cross member. Might be possible to limp it somewhere carefully (drove to where its parked, starting fine) but might be better to get it lifted. This van needs some attention and is sold as a passion project, but has a lot going for it.
Other main issues are the locking system is dodgy, and indicators currently not working. There are quirks as with any well loved vehicle this age but happy to talk through any questions.
Gearbox changed a couple of years ago, new steering column 5 years ago. Wee bonus if you want to keep it, the woodstove is brand new and top quality.
Mileage is an educated guess as it's been round the clock. You're buying MOT exemption with an 'indestructible' 'banana engine' in it. Selling because one of us has a kid now and the next stage of work is just too much - but its been in use, driven, and stayed in until very recently, it's really a great vehicle and if you can fix up the front end still has a lot of joy to give.
