Description
Piper GTT Project
Fully restored bodyshell and new remanufactured chassis. Almost all the other parts have been restored.
Engine and gearbox are required - originally it had a Ford X-Flow engine and gearbox that had been removed from the car before I bought it.
I have a 1600 Ford Sigma engine with throttle bodies, Omex ECU and Ford Type 9 gearbox that has been rebuilt with close ratio gears and heavy duty shafts which are available separately if wanted - I have removed this as I assumed most people would want to stick to an original X-Flow engine.
The bodywork and parts have been restored to original specification so visually is very original. This had been sat on a driveway for 30 years before I bought it so still has many of its original features and parts. The seat covers are original and can be used and the speedo and rev counter have been restored.
A new wiring loom has been fitted with a modern fuse box.
New side, rear windows and headlamp covers come with the car.
A new windscreen will be required - I had a brand new windscreen (£500 at the time) fitted but this was cracked on a corner by the painter. New ones are still available from Pilkington.
The major parts still required are: 1 x engine and gearbox, 1 x windscreen.
Almost all the other parts are there or already fitted.
I bought the car for around £10k (as per photo) and have spent about another £10k on parts and many hundreds of hours restoring the bodywork and parts but have lost interest in classic cars and decided to start building my own cars instead so need the time and money for that now.
You are welcome to view the car almost any time.
