A genuine high-mileage A6 with a long history of use and maintenance
I'm selling my 2009 Audi A6 2. 0 TDIe facelift following an upgrade to another A6.
The car has covered 315, 883 miles. That's obviously significant mileage, but it has been maintained throughout its life and is a very comfortable, practical car that still drives really well.
Much of its life has been spent covering long distances, which is what these cars do best. It comes with a full service history, and invoices are available for recent mechanical work.
This isn't a low-mileage showroom example, and I'm not pretending it is. It's a genuine, well-used A6 with plenty of equipment and a history of maintenance, offered at a modest price for someone who understands what they're buying.

Maintenance and recent mechanical work
The car has covered a lot of miles, but it's had plenty of maintenance along the way. Invoices are available for the following work:
- July 2025 – 296, 834 miles: Air-conditioning compressor and belt replaced, including an air-conditioning re-gas.
- August 2025 – 297, 911 miles: Power-steering pump and belt tensioner replaced.
- December 2025 – 302, 663 miles: Alternator pulley and tensioner replaced, along with the reverse-light switch.
The timing belt and water pump were last replaced in October 2019 at approximately 204, 000 miles.
The car was last serviced at approximately 302, 000 miles. A further service should be budgeted for, along with the timing belt and water pump due to the time and mileage since their last replacement.
I recently drove the car on a round trip from Bristol to view the A6 I've since bought, with around six hours of driving in one day. It performed well throughout the journey.
Condition and points to note
This is a 2009 car with over 315, 000 miles, so it has the age- and mileage-related wear you'd expect. The bodywork has various cosmetic marks, scratches and scuffs. The two larger scrapes shown in the photographs were caused by catching bollards while manoeuvring around tight bends, rather than a collision with another vehicle. Please study the photographs for an honest representation of its condition.
The following points should be taken into account:
Engine warning light – Fuel Pump B fault: The yellow engine warning light is on due to a fault described as “Fuel Pump B”, which has been present for around 10 years. A mechanic advised me at the time that it related to a secondary pump and that the car could continue to be driven. The fault was checked again when the alternator pulley was replaced in December 2025. I was advised that there were no other faults, although I don't have a written report from that check. The Fuel Pump B fault hasn't been repaired, and I can't confirm the exact cause. I'm mentioning it so the next owner knows about it.
Central locking: The central locking works, but the driver's door needs to be unlocked manually with the key rather than using the central locking. It's been like this for around 10 years and hasn't caused me any significant inconvenience, so I've never had it repaired. The cause hasn't been diagnosed.
Front-left tyre: The nearside front tyre is worn and needs replacing.
Outstanding maintenance: The timing belt and water pump were last replaced in October 2019 at around 204, 000 miles, so these should be budgeted for along with a further service.
The MOT expires on 14 November 2026.
The price takes into account the mileage, known faults and outstanding maintenance. The car is being sold as it stands, with the details above provided so the next owner knows what to expect.
Reason for sale
I've recently bought another Audi A6, so this car is now surplus to requirements.
I've always tried to look after my cars rather than replace them unnecessarily. My previous daily driver was a 2. 0-litre petrol Peugeot 406, which I ran to approximately 371, 000 miles on its original engine and gearbox.
This A6 has received the same sort of careful, smooth-driving approach.
I'd prefer to see it go to someone who appreciates these older A6s and is happy to take on a genuine high-mileage car.
