Classic 1973 Land Rover Series – Very Good Condition
Restored several years ago by the previous owner.
Incredibly reliable. I’ve owned it for three years and have never had any problems. It was recently serviced by a well-known local Classic Mini specialist, and the only work required was a clean and lubrication of the starter motor. The screw shaft threads and pinion were thoroughly cleaned and properly lubricated, ensuring it’s in excellent working order for years to come.
Everything else was fully inspected and checked, with no issues identified and no additional work required. There is a paint spot on the front bonnet which I think could do with some attention, it looks like its been knocked but hasn't dented the metal work in anyway. It was like that when I bought it - I can look to take a closer a picture.
Chassis and bulkhead: Original chassis restored, with both chassis and bulkhead in excellent condition.
Engine and gearbox: Original 2. 25-litre petrol engine and gearbox, as fitted from new.
Roof and interior: Needs a new canvas which can be picked up between £250 - £500. Interior pretty much all original expect for the seats which I believe are a later defender.
The only addition I've done is to fit a seat belt bar and two front seat belts.
A significant amount has been invested in bringing this Series 3 up to a very good standard.
