Description
Apart from another Santana, you don’t quite realise what could stop a Santana… It is with this hook that the advertisers responsible for the Santana Samourai’s communication illustrated the photo of the two little 4x4s, facing each other in the middle of a fragile handmade bridge, in the heart of the equatorial jungle! It is true that as early as 1985 the first version (SJ410) met with real commercial success. With its adorable face, its compact size, its reliability due to its simplicity and its off-road capabilities on all terrains, the Samourai has little competition. Only the Panda 4x4 casts a little shadow over it, but its lower ground clearance prevents it from certain access. In 1989, it became SJ413 and swapped the small 1000 cc engine delivering 45 hp for a 1. 3-litre carburetted engine which would become injected in 1995, with a more versatile power output of 69 hp. This is the model we are offering you today, in its desirable tarpaulin-covered body, which makes it as pleasant to use in the forest as by the seaside. It is offered in a rare original colour “aqua green metallic” with its taupe soft-top and its matching grey interior. This Santana was registered on 5 July 1995 (thus a 1996 model) by the Suzuki dealership in Limoges as a demonstrator vehicle, and was sold to its first owner on 20 October 1995 who will keep it until September 2025! Its Samourai was only used to get to work in fine weather and for a few Sunday rambles… that’s all! It has therefore covered just over 1, 500 km per year, but always regularly, which explains its very low mileage. Thirty years on, the little nicks of urban traffic had nevertheless taken their toll on its paintwork: we have given it a full new coat, the cover is also new, the tyres are new, the windscreen (original) will be replaced for delivery. Mechanically it runs as well as the first day, and a full service (spark plugs, filters, fluids) has been carried out for delivery. Almost impossible to find in such original condition with a single owner, this Santana represents an opportunity that rarely comes up. It is a playful, reliable, rugged vehicle, unstoppable in the mountains, very at ease on sand, darting through city streets, where its compact, timeless look will always attract sympathy.
