The Fiat 500 has, over the decades, become a true icon of Italian automotive culture.
With its ingenious design, simple and robust mechanics and a philosophy focused on essentials, it wonderfully embodies the spirit of freedom, practicality and lightness that has marked several generations of motorists.
This version stands out for its simple, authentic mentality. It pairs the 499 cc engine from the 500 110 F, reliable and lively for its displacement, with a deliberately pared-back finish inspired by the early Giardiniera. Built to offer the essentials at a lower cost, this 500 today appeals with its pure character, its lightness and its original spirit.
The model we offer, first registered in 1968, is among the early versions marketed under the Autobianchi name. It is notable for the appearance of the Autobianchi badge on the grille, the rear ventilation grilles and the hinged rear windows.
Its last owner has had it since 2023 and has spent over €3, 000 on mechanical work to ensure ideal use of this 500.
Mechanically, the twin‑cylinder 500cc engine starts easily, revs without issue and its tuning is excellent.
It has recently benefited from an engine restoration, including replacement of the timing chain, oil pump, oil relief valve and spring as well as replacement of many engine seals.
On occasion, the starter was replaced and a complete ignition overhaul carried out, ensuring reliable and calm operation.
The gearbox operates very well and the clutch fulfils its role perfectly, showing no signs of wear.
The drive is pleasant, true to the spirit of the car, the running gear is sound, and the tyres are new.
The shock absorbers provide good handling and a comfortable ride for leisurely trips.
The original wheels are in very good condition and paired with chrome hubcaps, while the tyres are new.
The paintwork is in good condition and shines nicely, though there are cracks in the paint on the left front wing and the driver’s door.
The cabin is in excellent condition and presents neatly, with no notable wear marks.
The upholstery is like new and harmonises beautifully with the exterior colour.
The door panels as well as the burgundy carpets are also in excellent condition.
The instrumentation is functional.
The black soft top is in perfect condition and opens easily.
