Description
Rare on our roads and in France in general,
I must, reluctantly, part with this 1951 Gillet-Herstal, 125cc.
Parallelogram fork, 100% original with its blue detailing. V5 logbook available.
After hours and hours of searching I managed to trace its history back to the new purchase,
This motorcycle was bought new in 1951 from the dealer “Cycle Menigoz” in Luxeuil-les-Bains, so it was registered new in Haute-Saône.
Then, at the end of February 1952, a young boarding-school master bought this motorcycle; it served him at the start of his studies and at the very beginning of his youth, then in the 1950s he would meet a young woman with whom he would marry in that same decade, the 1950s, an era when everyone drove a 2CV; this one would take the place of this Gillet-Herstal or it would be set aside for more than 30 years (testimony from the owner’s wife of the time).
Then in October 1987 a renowned *** vintage motorcycle collector based in the Jura bought the bike and pulled it out of the dust; he kept it for 38 years before it arrived at my home.
This motorcycle thus truly has barely over 2, 150 km of original mileage… it is therefore in 100% original condition, with this magnificent patina …
Surely the only one for sale in France, in remarkable condition
